Collection: In The Company of Animals
"In The Company of Animals" is a new series I had always wanted to make but didn't dare to bring it out into the world.
When I decided to participate in the group show called SIXBYSIX, curated by Shannon from THIS Gallery, I knew instantly what I had to make; animal heads in paper mache. I made a fox and a poet, and I couldn't stop making more after that show.
This series is my childhood nostalgia on steroid. Do you remember the time when you were little, you would lose the track of time completely because you were daydreaming and talking to an object in front of you as if it were your friend, in a wonderland where you were the princess or the friend who could speak the language of dream?
In this series I would like to invite you to the place where you were full of dreams, in the hope that you will regain the magic that you once had but might have lost as we grew older and believe again in the realm we can't see in our adults' eyes but only in the eyes of our little self.
